Not long ago I saw Drew Manning on an episode of The View. He’s a personal trainer promoting Fit2Fat2Fit. The segment was so crazy I actually went out and bought the book to read while I was on vacation. The premise is that Drew started off as an health-obsessed personal trainer (see?) who intentionally gained 70 pounds in a 6 month stint of laziness, fast food, and Mountain Dew. He writes about wanting to inspire his typical overweight clientele and prove to them that losing weight is difficult, but possible if you eat properly and exercise. After his 6 month binge he flipped the switch and followed a strict exercise and clean eating regimen for the following 6 months. Annoyingly he finished the 6 month health stint by being super fit…AGAIN.
I’m not going to review the book. Overall it was…okay. I haven’t tried to stick to the food plan he’s got in the back of his book, BUT I have added one recipe to my daily eats. This Drew Manning’s Spinach Smoothie, which was featured on Dr. Oz – it’s full of protein…and spinach, but it tastes pretty good. I jam everything into my Magic Bullet, and it takes just a few minutes in the morning. Here’s how to make it. If you’ve given it a try, or you’re interested in other recipes, please let us know!
